COPPER

C110 Electrolytic Tough Pitch Copper (UNS C11000)

has the highest degree of electrical conductivity of any metal except silver. C110 Silver Flash has an additional .000005 thick silver flash to further enhance electrical conductivity. High ductility makes it a good choice for drawing, forming and spinning operations. It can be cold-worked or hot-formed and has highly suitable characteristics for welding and soldering. Corrosion resistance is excellent. Conforms to ASTM specification

BRASS

C353 Leaded Brass (UNS C35300) is suited where extensive machining is performed in conjuction with or followed by severe knurling, deep thread rolling, deep roll stenciling, spinning, stabbing, flattening, bending, or flaring and expanding. Conforms to ASTM B453.

C360 Free-Cutting Brass (UNS C36000) is ideally suited for high speed machining operations with its superior machinability, thread rolling and knurling characteristics. Its machinability rating of 100 is the standard against which all other copper alloys are rated. It is easily soldered or brazed and has good resistance to corrosion. Typical applications include gears, pinions, plumbing ware fittings, adapters, valves, valve stems and screw machine products. Con- forms to ASTM specification B16.

C464 Naval Brass (UNS C46400) The addition of tin to copper and zinc results in C464 providing a high degree of corrosion resistance to sea water at even higher than normal temperatures while also assuring greater strength and rigidity. It possesses excellent capacity for hot-working and adapts well for hot forging and pressing. It also lends itself to drawing, forming, bending, heading and upsetting. It is readily soldered, brazed and welded. Typical applications include nuts, bolts, rivets, valve stems, pump shafts and marine hardware. Conforms to ASTM specification B21.

C485 Naval Brass Leaded (UNS C48500) Similar to C464, the addition of lead to C485 provides a high degree of machinability. It is an excellent choice for such products as marine hardware, screw machine products, valve stems and forgings which require extensive machining. It has good capacity for hot-forming but is not recommended for cold-working. Can be readily brazed and soldered. Conforms to ASTM B21.

C694 Silicon Brass (UNS C69400) has excellent wear-resistance with a low coefficient of friction and therefore is used where corrosion resistance and high-strength are critical, such as valve stems, it has excellent capacity for being hot formed but is not recommended for cold working. Has an excellent rating for soldering and brazing. Often used for forgings and screws machine products. Conforms to ASTM B371 and B249.

BEARING BRONZE

C674 Manganese Bronze (UNS C67400) is a high strength, non-heat-treatable material intended for use in applications requiring a combination of outstanding wear characteristics and high bearing strength. It has excellent hot forming capacities and is typically used for bushings, gears, connecting rods, wear plates and shafts. Conforms to SAFE J461 and J463.

C932 (SAE 660) Bearing Bronze (UNS 93200) has excellent load capacity and anti-friction qualities that make it preferred for a wide variety of applications such as machine tools, power transmission equipment, electric motors, automotive equipment, tractors, cranes, hoists, elevators and many types of accessory and special equipment. It has good machining characteristics, resists many chemicals and is generally recommended for medium speed, medium load applications. Conforms to ASTM B505.

C954 Aluminum Bronze (UNS 95400) is the most popular, all purpose aluminum bronze. It provides high yield and tensile strength, good ductility and weldability, unusual toughness and exceptional resistance to wear, fatigue and deformation under shock or overload. Conforms to ASTM 505.
